-Any other major other than Education may need a 120 Hour-TESOL Certificate

Below is special requirement for Male ESL Instructors – Jezan


Contract job: 2 year Renewable


English Teacher (1 position)


Job aim


To facilitate effective learning of English both inside and outside the classroom, in
order to enable PYP students to function more effectively in the language in
readiness and preparation for the JEC-PT technical programme.




Teaching and Student Support (2 positions)


To prepare and deliver up 25 teaching hours of English language instruction and to take into account individual learning styles and provide an environment conducive to Learning, following the Algonquin ESL curriculum. To be available for up to 15 hours of teaching related administrative office hours per week.


To monitor and give feedback to students/parents/teachers on student performance to allow student and teacher to take action and to encourage student autonomy To ensure students are sufficiently prepared to begin the Algonquin Curriculum and overall programme


Standards


1) Lesson observations, plans and records of work done demonstrate that lessons are a model of best practice, in line with the Saudi context and enhancing JECPT’s reputation in delivering a high quality foundation
programme


2) JECPT teaching standards, procedures and deadlines for counselling and assessment are met


3) Lesson observations, plans and records of attendance demonstrate that the level 100 teachers and students are following Algonquin Standards




Academic Management (2 posistions)


To ensure all taught Algonquin courses are delivered in the best pedagogical way by keeping updated professionally with new ELT developments and by overseeing the following related to PYP or foundation programmes: design and development syllabi testing development start, mid and end of term/semester procedures course book, supplementary material and resources selection ordering materials for the (Algonquin) specific courses termly stationery orders for teams


Standards


1) Positive feedback on courses from teachers, students and parents, local industry and CADRE


2) JECPT standards are met


3) End of year evaluation includes evidence of professional development in the field of ELT


Teacher Support (4 positions)


To provide an inclusive and supportive environment for colleagues with ideas for classes and with problem students and to identify training needs by delivering diplomatic input where necessary.


To carry out adminstrative tasks related to cover, classroom resources and materials development and being part of sub – teams according to distributed allocation, administrative follow up for faculty and delivery of teacher training input sessions and teacher training support if qualified and willing


Standards


1) Essential Personnel standards are met


2) JECPT PYP teaching standards are met


3) colleague feedback is positive


4) 360 feedback from students, staff and management


Communications and Office Administration (4 positions)


To ensure effective communications relating to Algonquin courses by:


Dealing with academic problems or complaints from students and parents and reporting them through the appropriate line manager in accordance with codes of conduct


Ensuring you are fully briefed on Algonquin courses and procedures


Ensuring you are fully briefed on registration (and placement testing) procedures and
that training and standardisation of testers is carried out at least twice during the
calendar year or with new arrrivals


Teacher-Student Support (4 positions)

Communicating to students about changes to courses or procedures


Standards


1) Positive feedback from colleagues, students and parents during registration


2) JECPT PYP teaching standards are met


3) Positive feedback from colleagues, Registrar and other relevant staff


4) Emails and other communications are replied to within 3 working days




Other Academic Administration (4 positions)


To complete and maintain up-to-date academic and other records


To attend and contribute to meetings as timetabled


To ensure all testing for Algonquin classes is delivered according to standards and marked in the allotted time


To leave periods are in accordance with the leave policy of the PYP


Standards


1) Documents and records are kept up-to-date and stored appropriately in hard copy form or on a shared drive and are in line with JECPT IT standards


2) Meetings are attended as timetabled


3) Testing and registration processes meet Algonquin standards and JECPT PYP needs


4) Code of conduct guidelines are followed Skills, knowledge
experience, and specialist qualifications.
