1. Salary: NT$75,000 to NT$78,000 per month
2. Contract: present to July 31, 2012

Licensed Teachers Wanted

We are looking for certified school teachers for the Government Elementary & Junior High schools English Program in Maio-Li County, Taiwan. A teacher is required to be a native English speaker, have a 4 year degree, and a valid teaching licensure (teachers certificate/license/a registered education diploma).

Taiwans government is currently accepting applicants from the following countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of South Africa, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

1. Term of Employment: ongoing to July 15, 2012

2. Pre-job training: 30 hours

3. Salary: Bachelors: $60,890.00 NT, Masters: $67,925 NT, or Doctorate: $70,895 NT paid monthly from the commencement date.

4. Rent allowance: $5,000.00 NT monthly

5. Working hours: Monday through Friday: 7:30 am to 4:30 p.m.

a. If you work for Elementary school, you will have a maximum of 22 classes per week. Class duration is 40 minutes.

b. If you work in a junior high school, you will have a maximum of 20 classes per week. Class duration is 45 minutes.

c. There will be up to 12 hours a month required for participation in various school activities for all teachers.

6. Health insurance is issued in accordance with the Taiwan law to all teachers.

Teachers are required to pay 30% and employers are required to pay 20% of the total premium under Taiwans National Health Insurance Program.

7. Evaluation and Performance Incentives will be issued to in July of 2012 for teachers who qualify.

a. A one-month-salary performance incentive will be paid to teachers with performance ratings of 80 points or above.

b. Half-month-salary performance incentive will be paid to teachers with performance ratings equal to a score between 70 and 79 points.

8. Employees are entitled to a combined 14 calendar days of personal leave and sick leave combined per year but contracts will be terminated if this combined leave exceeds 28 calendar days.

9. Airfare reimbursement:

a. Upon arriving to Taiwan, teachers shall provide receipts of airline tickets and boarding passes for economy class flights to Taiwan within 3 months of reporting for duty at assigned schools. Reimbursement for actual ticket costs cannot exceed $30,000 NT.

b. Upon departing from Taiwan after the completion of the Contract, teachers shall provide receipts of airline tickets and boarding passes for economy class flights from Taiwan within 2 months of completing contracts at assigned schools. Reimbursement for actual ticket costs cannot exceed $30,000 NT.

10. Required Documents:

a. A valid passport is needed.

b. An original degree and teaching certificate needs to be validated by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in ones home country prior to departing to Taiwan.

c. A valid criminal record needs to be issued by ones national government and validated by the TECO office in ones native country prior to departure to Taiwan.

d. 12 recent passport photos are needed.

e. A recent medical examination, public or private, from a government certified facility by a qualified physician needs to be done prior to departing to Taiwan.

Medical examinations that are longer than 90 days are not considered valid.

f. Individuals from South Africa are required to have a valid South African Council of Education certificate which has been notarized by a South African TECO.
