Assistant Language Teacher Positions
*APPLICANTS MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE IN NORTH AMERICA AND MUST HAVE A PERSONAL INTERVIEW THROUGH NEWPATH RECRUITMENT IN CHICAGO, LOS ANGELES, TORONTO or VANCOUVER, AND A WEBCAM INTERVIEW WITH OUR CLIENT COMPANY IN JAPAN.
*ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH THEIR PLACEMENT LOCATION IN JAPAN
Our client is an established company based in the Chubu region of Japan. They have an excellent support system for teachers by providing them with great working conditions, helpful teacher resources, and a support network that sets a very high standard. Our client’s goal is to provide the highest quality Assistant Language Teachers to public schools in the Chubu and Kansai regions which will then provide the best experience for all the students, customers, and the ALT’s themselves. Our client truly understands that by exceeding the highest expectations, the children will greatly benefit from their positive experiences.
Location: Predominantly in the Chubu region with some positions in Kansai and Hiroshima areas of Japan
Salary: 240,000 yen per month
Contract Length: One year contract with possibility of renewal
Start Date: March/April 2012
Basic Job Description:
ALT’s will be teaching in public elementary and junior high schools in a cooperative manner with a Japanese English teacher. Teachers will assist with planning lessons, leading class activities, supporting the Japanese teachers and are encouraged to participate in daily school life and various school events.
Basic Requirements:
a)University Degree (in any discipline however Japanese, Asian Studies, Teaching etc are preferred)
b)Native English speaker
c)ESL/EFL teaching experience in Japan or ESL/EFL certification ie. TESL, TEFL or CELTA certificate
d) At least basic Japanese language ability
e)No criminal record
f)Professional, committed, motivated, and adaptable
*TESL/TEFL Certificates favorable, but not necessary
Benefits:
a)Full Working Visa sponsorship
b)Assistance in securing a company-sponsored apartment
c)Roughly 7 weeks of paid vacation plus national holidays
d)5 paid sick days per year and up to 5 days paid leave for bereavement of family members
e)All work related transportation costs are reimbursed
