Overview: An excellent, well-managed international American School in Cyprus seeks High School IB Teachers for various start dates in 2012 (two-year contracts). This is an excellent opportunity to work in one of best schools in the world, with the possibility of renewing contracts upon completion. As this is an American school, USA-trained teachers will be given preference but the school will also consider other native-English speaking teachers with the right profile. As an International Baccalaureate school, teachers with IB experience are preferred. Teachers will teach nationals and international students from grades 9 – 12.
Location: Cyprus
Contract Terms: Two year contract, housing or housing allowance provided
Candidate Profile and Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education plus relevant degree
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
Must be able to teach Grades 9-12
Prefer IB trained and experienced
Native English speaking and educated in Canada, US (preferred), UK, Australia or New Zealand
Single teachers or married teaching couples
Teacher Profile:
Small classes ensure individual attention from teachers and this school boasts an average class size of 15 students and maximum class size is 24 students from Grades 1-12 and 22 in the Kindergarten classrooms. The teachers’ student ratio is 1:7. Teachers are well qualified with most having advanced degrees and North American teaching certification. Each year the school recruits qualified teachers from the USA, Canada, the U.K. and Cyprus and have teachers from several European countries. Teachers with experience and training in American system education and the International Baccalaureate are given preference in hiring.
