We are interested in recruiting for Sep 2012 well-qualified, committed and experienced teachers of EFL/ESL/EAP – Age limit 52 or below - for our preparatory year program.
The PEP is part of the Preparatory Year Program (PYP), preparing male students for English-medium studies. The PEP consists of two 20-hour-per-week pre-university intensive integrated courses in general and academic English. The courses take a communicative approach to language learning and focus on the development of functional English in the four areas of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
Instructors/lecturers are hired for the beginning of the academic year in September.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A basic degree in any discipline, plus
MA/MEd in TEFL/TESOL or Applied Linguistics including a practicum; a one-year postgraduate diploma in TEFL/TESL from an accredited university, or an RSA/UCLES DELTA. These qualifications must be full-time courses.
More basic post graduate qualifications in TESOL (CELTA, Cert TEFLA or equivalent – full-time 120 hours with a practicum)) can also be considered for candidates with particularly appropriate experience (6+ years).

EXPERIENCE:
With an MA in TEFL/TESOL or Applied Linguistics, at least two years’ full-time teaching of EFL/EAP overseas is required. With more basic postgraduate qualifications, further experience is expected. With a CELTA, a minimum of seven years EFL/EAP following the qualification is required.

END-OF-SERVICE GRATUITY:
After between two and five years of employment, the employee will be paid an amount equal to half a month's salary for each year of service. With five or more years of service, the gratuity is calculated on the basis of a month's salary for each year of service.

ADDITIONAL REMUNERATION:
HBCC also offers an Evening Language Program and short courses to various ministries and private concerns. These courses are taught by PEP faculty members who are interested in augmenting their salary.
