Job Description

ESL Teachers - University of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia

University of Tabuk has vacancies for English Language Teachers in the city of Tabuk and also in coastal towns on the Red Sea, where the University of Tabuk has campuses. Teachers work 16-18 teaching/contact hours per week, plus academic and administrative duties relating to the English language program.

The University of Tabuk was established in 2006 and is part of the Saudi Arabian government’s ambitious investment in higher education. In the long term, the university aims to grow to 50,000 students. As undergraduate studies are in English, all students must complete a Preparatory Year program, which includes intensive English tuition. The program currently has over 6,000 students enrolled and we are looking for dedicated English teachers to join our faculty.

Tabuk (population 300,000) is a historic city in the northwest of Saudi Arabia. It is very close to the Jordanian border (and the world-famous ancient city of Petra) and the Red Sea, a scuba divers’ paradise with some of the most pristine beaches in the world (with equal access for both women and men), and close to Egypt’s Sharm-el-Sheik seaside resort. The city dates from 1500 BCE and is surrounded by ruins dating from Paleolithic times through to the end of the Ottoman Empire era. Not far south of Tabuk are the holy city of Medina and the ancient site of Madain Saleh (“Saudi Arabia’s Petra”).

Tabuk has a high elevation and enjoys dry, sunny weather and a pleasant temperature throughout the year (17 – 37 Cº).

We offer an attractive remuneration package. Saudi Arabian universities can offer some of the best remuneration packages for English teachers. The low cost of living in Tabuk allows for a comfortable standard of living and substantial savings, and the remuneration package includes the following benefits:

• Attractive tax-free basic salary, dependent on qualifications and experience.
• Completion of contract bonus.
• Housing allowance.
• Furniture allowance.
• Medical covereage.
• Children’s private education allowance or free education at government schools.
• Holidays – Paid annual holidays of about 90 days (60 days annual leave plus national holidays and university breaks).
• Annual return flights for teachers and dependants.
• Initial one-year contract, renewable by mutual agreement.
