Volunteers needed for MINI-AMERICAN SUMMER SCHOOL’S 9th SUMMER SESSION
The Mini American Summer School is in the planning stages for its ninth summer season. The summer school will be held from Sunday, June 24th, 2012 through Friday, July 6th, 2012, in Koltsovo, Siberia/Russia, a suburb of the capital of Siberia, Novosibirsk. The summer school for Russian students going into grades one through eleven is designed to enhance their English language interactive skills. Native English speaking educators and other professionals who volunteer their time for the two weeks of summer school staff the school. The Mini American Summer School staff members pay for their airfare & Visa to and from Russia with their room, board, and cultural excursions during the summer school provided by the local summer school sponsors. The local summer school sponsors pay $300.00 of an optional post summer school excursion from July 9th to July 13th, 2012. Each summer the summer school accommodates 160 students and 50 Russian teachers of English. Mini-American Summer School is in the recruitment phase of assembling its twelve person team. Email and request project information and an application. The team will be chosen from the application pool in early January in order to begin Travel and Visa preparations. This is a unique teaching/travel experience which has a been staffed by over 70 American educators throughout the nine years of the project.
