The schedule for all positions:
10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Early Childhood)
2:30 p.m. – 3:50 p.m. (Daily preparation time)
3:50 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. MWF and 3:50 p.m.-7:30 p.m. T/Th (Elementary/Middle School program)
Details:
3.0~3.2 Million Won (depending on degree/experience) + All benefits listed below + Incentives for achieving various goals

About the School:
We have been awarded a Best Brand award from the Korea Times as the top school in Junior Education for the past eight years, our students have won numerous awards in national English aptitude tests, and every student must pass a strict entrance test before being allowed to join our academy.

About Seongbuk Campus:
Seongbuk POLY is most likely the only English academy in Korea owned and managed by a non-Korean and a former POLY teacher. For this reason, there are no awkward communication problems or cultural situations in-house. In addition, because I began teaching at POLY in 2001, I have spent many years using the same material that our teachers use and will pass that experience on to you.
Seongbuk is the traditional center of Seoul, thus we are in close proximity to everything you would like to experience in Korea, including universities, night life, nature, and traditional sites.

The ideal applicant:
The ideal applicant holds a degree in Education, English, Communications, or Linguistics. Teaching experience and/or experience in the field of childcare is almost a must. He/she is a blend of 3 main ingredients: love, discipline, and intelligence. Korean children are a bit more fragile than their Western cousins, and a little love goes a long way. I used to describe this quality as ‘gentleness,’ but I found that teachers can appear gentle without giving themselves to students, so I emphasize that the teachers must really care for the students. Discipline is required not only to keep up our tight schedule, but also to keep your students disciplined (while still remaining gentle!). There are SO many reasons why intelligence is required, but I hope most are obvious. He/she knows that this is a job and not a vacation, despite being far from home. Many people make EFL a career, and I expect dedication to children and the art of teaching. Above all else, he/she must love being around children because that is what it’s all about.

Reading Specialist/Debate:
This year, I am particularly looking for individuals to supervise our reading and debate programs in addition to teaching a regular schedule. Responsibilities will involve training other teaching staff and participating in meetings to evaluate success in both programs, making adjustments when needed.

-Original diploma (and copy with an apostille (US) or stamp from a Korean Embassy (Canada)
-Transcripts – For our purposes and need not be sealed
-Passport (valid up to 6 months)
-Criminal Record Check (fingerprint-based) with an apostille (US) or stamp from a Korean Embassy (Canada)
-Applicants must also submit to a medical check/blood test upon arrival in Korea. Any illegal substance abuse will result in being immediately returned to one’s home country at his/her expense along with legal action, at the very least, to reclaim any expenses paid on our part.
