Qualified, professional teachers required

The London School of English, Saudi Arabia

Job Description

Qualified, professional teachers required

The London School of English, Saudi Arabia, is recruiting teaching staff for its language centre in Jeddah. Positions are scheduled to commence early in 2012. Interviews for UK-based candidates will be held in London during the first half of December.

LSE Jeddah is a brand-new centre, situated in a modern building in the heart of Jeddah’s business district. Courses will include teaching business and general English to adults in the corporate sector, as well as specialist, technical, engineering and examination programs.

Jeddah is an attractive and historic city situated on Saudi Arabia’s Western coast, within reach of the Asir Mountains, the resort towns of Taif and Abha, the ancient Nabatean City of Mada’in Saleh, and some of the world’s best diving in the nearby Red Sea.

We have positions available for both experienced and less experienced teachers. A Bachelor’s degree and a CELTA/TEFL certificate are essential, and teaching experience highly desirable, particularly in a Middle Eastern environment. Experience of teaching corporate, specialist or IELTS courses, or further qualifications such as the DELTA, are also an advantage. However, being an enthusiastic professional with the right attitude to teaching, who is looking for a challenge and enjoys working in a friendly and supportive environment, is ultimately more important than the number of years of experience on your CV.

We are initially seeking teachers willing to commit to a 1-year contract, and offer an attractive package including:

• Basic Salary (tax-free) of 11,000 – 13,200 SAR (c. 3,000 – 3,500 USD) depending on qualifications and experience.
• Choice of accommodation options: have a good-quality, single, furnished apartment provided free of charge, or receive a monthly accommodation allowance of 750-850 USD in addition to your salary, and select the apartment to suit you.
• 22 contracted teaching hours per working week.
• Flights, residency permit (iqama) and comprehensive medical insurance provided.
• All Saudi national holidays (normally 10 days each at Hajj and at the end of Ramadan) plus another 30 days of annual leave, fully paid.

If you would like to apply for a position, or would like to know more about the opportunities we have available, please contact Rufus Vaughan-Spruce, Academic Director, London School, Jeddah, on:rufus@londonschool.com, attaching a copy of your current CV.

Please note: Owing to Saudi Arabian labour and visa regulations, we are currently only able to consider applications from male teachers who are native speakers of English.

The London School of English, Saudi Arabia, is a part of the London School Group. (http://www.londonschoolgroup.com)
