EFL Teachers - Various Positions in Hong Kong

The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations.

EFL Teachers (various positions in Hong Kong)

As a member of one of the largest and most vibrant teaching centres in our network, you will strive to deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups and individual learning styles particularly in the area of young learners. You will also have the opportunity to play a vital role in developing and facilitating a teacher development programme to support teachers with their primary teaching. These posts certainly offer excellent opportunities to develop valuable skills in course development, teacher training and line management.

Starting in January 2012, these positions are contracted for two years and would be especially suited to those wishing to work in a dynamic team environment and who are looking to develop professionally. The positions available are:

1. Generalist EFL Teachers
2. Specialist Early Years Teacher
3. Specialist Very Young Learner (VYL)/Young Learner (YL) Teacher
4. Specialist Young Learner (YL) Teacher

Essential Requirements

• Very high proficiency in English
• A first degree and an internationally recognised TEFL-I/TEFL-Q qualification (i.e. CELTA/ Trinity/DELTA/Trinity DipTESOL/PGCE/B.Ed Primary or equivalent).
• At least two years of full-time relevant teaching experience across all age groups particularly young learners.
• Customer service oriented with strong team-working skills
• Specialised qualifications, experience and skills as specified in the job description

Please note that due to operational requirements you will work a Wednesday to Sunday timetable (with a Monday and Tuesday weekend) or Saturday to Wednesday timetable (with a Thursday and Friday weekend).
