(Direct-Hire) Teachers and Developers Needed

(Direct-Hire) Teachers and Developers Needed: Teach/Write at 7s English With a Proprietary Curriculum in Bundang (Seoul)

[Introduction]
7s English is looking for native English teachers and developers who are highly motivated, dedicated to children and teaching, and have a professional outlook. We need instructors who share our objectives to help students achieve their educational goals. In addition, we need candidates with long-term goals to become experts in the learning process in order to create material that help students excel.

[Why Work for 7s English]

Curriculum

1. Full curriculum program based on over 8 years of research on the US educational system and philosophies.
2. In-house developed educational DVD materials, teaching methods, and assessment packages
3. A full-fledged book club library program, distinct from our class instruction program, yet designed to provide services that work in conjunction with regular classes and multiply the learning experience of our students

R&D

1. R&D department devoted to production of ever-evolving curriculum content and teaching tools.
2. Vast content database to correctly assign foreign (English) material content to the appropriate English proficiency level of domestic (Korean) students.

Company Philosophies

1. Teaching: Our teaching philosophy is based on student-centered teaching. Elementary students do not learn effectively when we deliver lecture lessons, but rather learn when we adapt our lessons based on their situations. If a student is not paying attention to the lesson, it doesn’t matter how intelligent the teacher is, how good the curriculum is, or how good the lesson is.
2. The key phrase at 7s English is "Risk Zero Education.” Other schools cater their curriculum and marketing toward the top 20% students, because they are the easiest to teach. For these top students, even an average teacher can produce results that are enviable, and thus most teachers prefer to teach advanced students. However, we are the opposite. Our curriculum is developed and catered toward the top 80% of the students. We believe that the best teacher is the teacher that can bring out the best in the struggling student, not the star student.

Opportunity for the Motivated Willing

1. Vision: There are opportunities for internal advancement for employees with entrepreneurial spirit with initiative and drive. There is no glass ceiling for these kinds of employees, Korean or non-Korean. We want employees who will help nurture, as well as grow with, the company. We strive to be a company of professional colleagues. While a good opportunity for candidates with a like mind, our company can be a very stressful environment for teachers who do not share our mindset of wanting to become the best in what they do.
2. Investment: We offer a lot of opportunities for our employees to learn, excel, and expand their skill sets:
a. Basic Business Marketing (How to think): How to segment, group, prioritize, check for accuracy, and set objectives. How to apply marketing tools (STP, SWOT, value propositions, etc.) in actual class. How to set class and student objectives.
b. Grammar: The what, how, and why. What to teach ESL students, and why they need to know it. Why knowing grammar is very beneficial for native teachers. How to teach grammar in a student-centered way to Korean students.
c. Basic Project Planning: Scoping, objective setting, deliverables, milestone setting, contingency planning, work breakdown structuring, document writing, and project execution.

[Ideal Candidates]
The Candidate’s 4 P’s: Potential, Passion, Professionalism, and Pro-activeness

1. Potential: We value candidates that have the potential to add value to our services and to our customers.
a. A candidate with potential will be able to grasp our teaching methods and concepts, incorporate it into their teaching style, and utilize their skill sets to effectively teach the students and perform company duties. A candidate with potential may not be the best at the onset, but they will steadily grow in effort, skills, and results over time.

2. Passion: The ideal candidate will have passion for the job. This may include having an affinity toward teaching, children, educational development, or working in an academic company environment.
a. A candidate with passion will take an avid and active interest in the status and improvement of the students. They will take the initiative to alert management of the current situation, recommend and present a concrete action plan to solve the issue, as well as mentor students to buttress specific language skills, motivation, or confidence. In short, a candidate with passion will be an earnest employee.

3. Professional: The ideal candidate will have a professional mindset and outlook.
a. Understanding the objectives, executing duties with commitment and a feeling of ownership, and aligning oneself with the company’s educational philosophies and methods are examples of being a consummate professional. 4. Proactive: The ideal candidate will become a proactive member of the company, rather than a reactive member.
a. Proactive people question what they do not know, and then go out to seek the answer, rather than accept the situation/status and stagnate.
