Volunteers Needed to Work in First Nations Communities in the North of Canada
Frontiers FoundationVolunteers Needed to Work in First Nations Communities in the North of Canada
Frontiers Foundation is a federally chartered non-profit charitable organization that has been chartered since 1968. Our mandate is to recruit volunteers from around the world to volunteer in small, First Nations, schools in the north of Canada to assist as tutors and teaching assistants. This is a very challenging undertaking as many of the communities in which we work suffer from severe social problems such as alcoholism and drug abuse however, for the right person, this can be an incredible experience.
If you were to apply and be accepted to join Frontiers Foundation your travel within Canada to and from the project location would be covered. Volunteers from outside of Canada are required to cover their travel to and from Canada. We also provide accommodations for the volunteers and cover food and living expenses while on the project. Winter clothing and a weekly stipend of $50 to be used for pocket money is also provided. Our projects start in late August and last through the full school year, to the end of June, so this is a long term commitment.
