FULL TIME & PART-TIME ENGLISH TEACHERS


Playgroup & Kindergarten

Little Dalton Kindergarten (http://www.littledalton.com) is looking for dedicated and engaging native English teachers for the coming academic year to help cultivate a comfortable bilingual language and cultural immersion environment.

To match with the expansion of the school, we are opening permanent positions starting August 2015, part-time positions during the year for language and interest classes as well as the winter and summer programmes in Year 2015-2016.

Your Role:

• Prepare and conduct playgroup classes, kindergarten language and general studies classes in English, quizzes and assessments as assigned by the principal

• Share the duty of a class teacher and co-work with colleagues in both the English and Chinese teacher teams to shape a bilingual language immersion environment for children

• Help prepare, source, purchase and manage storage of children's books, reference titles, teaching resources or materials for classroom use

• Draft progress report for students, analyze the results of assessments and make recommendations to parents via phone or face-to-face meetings

• Assist in the interviewing for new students enrollment

• Carry out events for both students and parents including visits, seminars, sports day, school picnic, performance and ceremonies during weekdays and Saturdays

• Attend teacher training presentations and workshops for own development

• Substitute for absent colleagues, perhaps at short notice, on or off-site

Extra responsibilities for Senior teachers

• Support the teaching team in drafting the scheme of work & lesson plans, adopting the appropriate teaching and learning strategies and classroom management skills

• Contribute to the teacher professional development

• Induct new teachers, help them get familiar with details of Dalton Plan and EYFS

• Assist the principal to grow the teacher team by identifying barriers and executing new strategies to resolve issues

• Draft proposals for routine classroom activities and special events with cost estimates for materials, manpower and resources required to seek approval and budget

• Take initiative to share any ad hoc work or assigned projects for an upgrade in any aspect especially for an operational excellence within the school or an expansion of the school group

• Be an ambassador for the school group and its various courses

You should have / be:

-A native English registered teacher with a Bachelor degree major in English, Education or other relevant areas plus a TEFL/CELTA certificate or Trinity qualification

-A CCW and CCS certificate a clear advantage

-Minimum 2 years of experience working with kindergarten children of all nationalities (people with less experience could be considered as teacher assistants)

-Minimum 8 years of teaching experience for Senior teachers and with at least 3 years' experience of which working as coordinators, team or project leaders (experience in early childhood education preferred)

-A passionate, flexible and organized team player

-Capable of running Art, Music, Drama, PE or Phonics lessons a definite advantage

-A Hong Kong ID or work visa would be an advantage
