Full Time Native English Speaking Teachers
Panyathip International School is a fast growing and every improving school with nearly 600 students in Vientiane, Laos. The capital is rapidly developing but retains a unique charm while the country is still very rural and full of natural beauty.
Our curricula follows the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) at both the Primary and Secondary level. As well, the Primary Department will begin using the International Primary Curriculum for teaching Thematic/Topic classes.
School Location
The school in Baan Saphanthong which is centrally located within walking distance of riverside areas in the capital city of Vientiane in Laos.
We are recruiting the following positions to begin August 10, 2015:
ENGLISH TEACHERS (Secondary level): Monthly salary up to 1500usd.
The position prepares students for the Cambridge (CIE) IGCSE curriculums in ESL. Ideally the chosen candidate will have experience with the CIE English IGCSE curriculum as well as be a certified oral examiner. Teachers with a B.Ed, PGCE or post-bac certificate with specialty in English are also strongly encouraged to apply.
PRIMARY HOMEROOM TEACHERS (Years 1-2): Monthly salary up to 1500usd.
Years 1,2, and 5 positions available for next academic year. This position teaches core subjects (English, Maths, Science) using the Cambridge Primary Curriculum as well as Topic Studies using the International Primary Curriculum. Also, the homeroom teacher is responsible for homeroom periods, assembly periods and Health topics in addition to overall pastoral care of their students. These positions have a maximum of 24 (45minutes each) teaching periods per week.
GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES TEACHER: A Social Sciences course which follows the IGCSE curriculum. This is a unique course which requires subject knowledge in an area such a Human Geography or Political Science. Teaching strategies such as collaborative learning, researching and project-based learning are essential to following the course curriculum.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER (Years 1-7): Usually this position is recruited locally but it is still available to all persons with (intermediate to above) English language skills. A monthly salary of 700usd is offered.
About You
• The ability to lead, inspire and motivate your students.
• 1 year (minimum) of teaching experience highly preferred
• Flexibility to adapt, live and thrive in a tropical and still developing country
• P.I.S. welcomes fresh B.Ed graduates who are looking for their first teaching job.
Your Qualifications must include one of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree with (TEFL/TESL certificate) in a relevant subject. OR
-A Bachelor of Education from an ACCREDITED University. OR
- A PGCE, Post-bac teaching certificate or QTS would be a plus.
