ESL Program Director Required in Rural Bangkok, Thailand

The International Buddhist College (IBC), in cooperation with Khyentse Foundation and Esukhia, is looking for a native English-speaking ESL Program Director with an M.A. in Teaching English as Second Language to direct an intensive English program in rural Bangkok, Thailand starting September 2015.

IBC Buddhist Scholar Intensive English Program is a brand new program for traditionally trained senior Buddhist scholars interested in studying English. These scholars will go on to teach Buddhist philosophy and to assist with translation projects, answering the worldwide demand for English- speaking Buddhist scholars. The program will be held about an hour north of Bangkok on a beautiful, forested campus, an ideal place for living a meditative life while making a difference to the future of Buddhism.

Job Description

-Supervising the overall program

- Working with the CELTA/TEFL trained teachers and providing necessary support

-Organizing extracurricular activities

-Managing and providing necessary training for the volunteers (on-campus or online)

-Coordinating with IBC, Khyentse Foundation, and Esukhia

Job Requirements

-Native English speaker from UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand

-M.A. in Teaching English as Second Language

-Minimum one year of commitment

-Minimum three years of teaching experience

-Preferably with previous management experience Remuneration

-Food and accommodation are provided free of charge. Teachers will have their own room with shared bathroom and three vegetarian meals a day. (Due to the campus location, we may not be able to fulfill special dietary or accommodation needs.)

-Monthly salary of Baht 45,000-55,000 per month depending on qualification and experience.

-Introduction to Buddhism, yoga, and meditation courses available.

-Assistance with the Visa, Work Permit, and Teacher Licensing required during your employment.

-Airport pickup for teachers coming from abroad.
