Job Description

Experienced English Teacher Required in Bangkok, Thailand

Experienced English Teacher Required for an Intensive English Program for Buddhist Scholars in Bangkok, Thailand

The International Buddhist College (IBC), in cooperation with Khyentse Foundation and Esukhia, is looking for native English-speaking teachers, preferably holding a CELTA/TEFL certificate, to teach in an intensive English program in rural Bangkok, Thailand starting September 2015.

IBC Buddhist Scholar Intensive English Program is a brand new program for traditionally trained senior Buddhist scholars interested in studying English. These scholars will go on to teach Buddhist philosophy and to assist with translation projects, answering the worldwide demand for English-speaking Buddhist scholars. The program will be held about an hour north of Bangkok on a beautiful, forested campus, an ideal place for living a meditative life while making a difference to the future of Buddhism.

Teachers will gain lots of teaching experience through this carefully designed immersion program, which features 1:1 and 1:2 tuition as its foundation. By utilizing very low teacher-student ratios, the program aims at a level of individualization that will provide each and every student with the maximum opportunity for language production.
