Job Description

Teach in Cambodia – MAKE A DIFFERENCE – AND GET PAID TO DO SO!

LanguageCorps Asia has a unique & incredible opportunity for those of you with an adventurous spirit, or looking for a change in life!!

Get out of those winter blues and come to Cambodia – the Kingdom of Wonder!! Experience the adventure of a lifetime, while getting paid to teach.

Our LC-Asia Cambodian Instructor Internship Program may be just the program you need to change your life. This all-inclusive unique job program provides participants with the opportunity to get their internationally-recognized TESOL Certificate, spend a few months in a paid teaching job in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and have all the job, cultural and living abroad support needed for a great experience. All while giving back to others, and experiencing living in one of the most amazing Asian countries on the planet.

Two programs begins on either February 16th or March 16th, 2015, and each is a four week TESOL Certificate program and a 3-4 month teaching internship. Here's how it works.

Participants accepted for one of the 6 limited program seats on either start date, arrive in Phnom Penh for their TESOL training. Intern participants stay at the Marady Hotel (http://www.lc-asia.com) and undertake two weeks of in-class teacher training. Interns then undertake two weeks of intern projects, as well as guided and supervised teacher training practicum with real Cambodian students during the first stage of the program at local orphanages and international schools.

In the second stage, interns then spend 3-4 months teaching at a school in Phnom Penh that sponsors their TESOL Certification Course (from mid-March / April to June - August). Interns are paid $800 per month for each of the 3-4 month teaching placements. This teaching stipend is good, considering interns have no major expenses such as rent (if they take the pre-paid accommodation option), and the cost of living in Cambodia is so low (prices average at around $2-$4 for a meal, tuk tuk taxi across the city is $4-$5, etc.)

While undertaking the 3-4 month internship at a local school, CIIP participants may continue to stay at the Marady Hotel. The hotel has pool, 24 hour restaurant and bar, free laundry service, buffet breakfast Monday to Friday, and the rooms are air-conditioned with English language television, fridge, etc. You also have access to our reference library, assistance by trainers, teaching community and support services at the hotel. The accommodation cost is $300 per month extra, which may be pre-paid before starting the program, or as an option after arrival. Participants may also opt to rent an apartment in the city on their own, in which case we provide assistance in finding your own housing in the city.

Besides gaining your 144 hour international teaching qualifications through our CIIP program and practical experience in real schools to jump-start your resume, the program also includes up to 20 hours of Khmer language and cultural classes, cell phone loan for the first month, and we can arrange trips to Angkor Wat (the largest religious complex on the planet), or down to the tropical beach in Sihanoukville. We also offer NAUI scuba diving programs, if you want to get dive-certified while here and swim in beautiful tropical waters.

After the program finishes, you can stay and teach longer in Phnom Penh at your school or a different school, or take your new internationally-recognized 144 hour TESOL Certificate and teach anywhere in the world!

The cost of the program (all-inclusive of TESOL Certificate training, accommodation during the training, etc.) is US $750. CIIP Participants earn this back by getting paid $800 per month for the three to four month teaching internship, gaining their internationally-recognized TESOL qualification & accommodation (a market value of approximately $2,340), and saving on rent, breakfasts, laundry, transport, etc.

To apply, no experience or university degree is required, however your resume should include your nationality, date of birth, recent photo, and a cover letter stating why you want to do the program. Send resumes and your cover letter to: asiaenglishteachers@gmail.com, and we will respond to your email within 72 hours. Feel free to send questions regarding the program to the above email. Note that we can only accept six participants for each start date on this special program.
