Academic Technician - Riyadh


Start Date: 21st December 2014

Prime Teachers is working in collaboration with a leading worldwide provider of international education and services and the Colleges of Excellence in Saudi Arabia to lead the development of the Technical and Vocational training.

As Academic Technician, you will be primarily responsible for assisting in conducting a needs analysis, creating recommendations and offering concurrent professional development to selected personnel in a group of colleges under the Colleges of Excellence headquarters in Riyadh. You will be stationed in the CoE HQ and will travel to colleges within your group to carry out the aforementioned work. As Academic Technician, you will report in the first instance to the Academic Lead.

Main Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will involve:

• Reporting to, and taking direction from, your assigned Lead in one of the three specialization areas (Curriculum, QA and / or assessment)

• Ensure the needs analysis within the colleges are conducted to the highest industry standards in terms of integrity, accuracy and depth

• Comply with all safety and security directives issued from the Lead for any college visits

• Maintain a high level of professionalism and cultural awareness at all times during your work within the colleges and at CoE HQ

• Accept direction and seek guidance from the Lead whenever needed or given

• Present findings and reports from the colleges to the Lead in a timely manner and with a high level of clarity and accuracy

• Deliver professional development sessions to identified personnel within colleges as directed and according to the framework indicated by the Lead

• Any other duties required from time to time by the Lead

Candidate Profile (to apply for the positions you MUST meet the client’s following requirements):

You will be dynamic and performance driven and enjoy the challenge of participating in a project at an early stage of development. In addition you will have:

Essential

• Masters degree in Education or, if Bachelor level, significant experience in areas listed below

• Significant experience working with English language acquisition programs at the teaching and leadership levels

• A good theoretical and working knowledge of Assessment, Curricular Design and Quality Assurance

• A proven successful record in contributing to initiatives involving Assessment, Curricular Design and / or Quality Assurance

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including a strong grasp of formal writing for reports/official correspondence

• Willingness to work flexibly and to tight deadlines when necessary

• Excellent attention to detail and experience of working with a high degree of accuracy

• Ability to take direction and successfully complete the task independently or with minimal guidance

• A strong and proven commitment to a customer service and teamwork ethos

• Excellent IT skills including MS Excel and Word

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• The ability to analyse data and present results clearly

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

• PhD

• Experience working in the MENA region

• Experience of working with international students

Package:

• Salary of £56,000 per annum (pro rata)
