English language teachers needed in Qingdao

Qingdao Vocational and Technical College of Hotel Management is a government-owned college offering three years education approved by Shandong People's Municipality. The college is located in the world famous Mountain Lao scenery area in Qingdao. The College occupies an area of 53 hectares with a total classroom and office space of 200,000 square meters.The history of the college can be traced back to 1945 and thousands of graduates from the college have contributed in many five start-rated hotels, business & trade companies around the world.

Qingdao Vocational and Technical College of Hotel Management is open to invite foreign experts and teachers to work in the college teaching foreign languages. At present, we have 8 foreign teachers who are from the U.S.A, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Korea and Japan etc. All the foreign teachers are arranged to live together in one apartment building, which offers good living environment for them to make friends and share their teaching ideas. Each foreign teacher will have their own apartment to live, which is about 70 square meters, with two bedrooms, a living room, a balcony, one kitchen and a washroom with the basic household appliance, which is reasonable for all the foreign teachers to live, work and study.

Candidates should have the ability to teach a variety of classes, such as listening, speaking and writing, etc. The teaching load can vary, depending upon the Department’s needs, and teacher requests approved in advance. The normal load is from 14 to 18 credit hours, at most 20 credit hours and each class is 45 minutes. This amount of workload is 15 hours per week at most. In addition to teaching, successful candidates are also expected to help develop the environment of English language learning in the college. Specifically, each teacher will participate in English corners to take a roll turn in each semester.

Candidates should be NATIVE English speakers, between 25-65 years old and have at least a Bachelor degree. At least two years Teaching experience is required. Those who have TESOL certificate are preferable. Candidates should be committed to high quality teaching and a willingness to assist students.
