Job Description

Teaching Positions in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

KB-BRIDGE, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia

KB-BRIDGE is one of the largest privately owned English schools in the Sakhalin Region. Founded in 2006, KB-Bridge has been providing the English language courses to the Region’s culturally rich, diverse, and economically forward-moving community. Every year KB-Bridge serves about a thousand ESL learners. This includes children of almost all ages, young adults and adults.

With the growing expat community and the presence of many international businesses in the Region coupled with the widening academic aspirations of the local community, there has been a spike in the demand for English language skills.

The school has three offices: two in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and one in Korsakov. Located in the hearts of both cities, KB-Bridge is a well-known, popular and reputable language school.

The city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Russian: Þ́æíî-Ñàõàë&egra ve;́íñê) is the administrative center of the Sakhalin Region, Russia. The Region consists of fifty-nine islands where Sakhalin is the biggest. Sakhalin is also Russia’s largest island. It’s almost twice as big as Belgium, Denmark, and Taiwan.

Sometimes referred to as the “Treasure Island”, Sakhalin is energy independent, and it also meets the energy needs of its neighbors. Due to significant investments from major oil companies like Gazprom, ExxonMobil, Sakhalin Energy Investment Company, the region has become the center of the Far Eastern economic growth.

The city has recently been dubbed the “City in the Sunny Valley” due to its unique location between two mountain ranges. Such a convenient location protects the city from frequent hurricanes, typhoons and blizzards. The city has seen a great deal of change along with the continuous development.

Yuzhny, as popularly known, is a city with two distinctive features - an amazing bright green view in summer and an extraordinary white and snowy winter. Spring and fall are similar in temperature. However, September is known for its mild weather and hot summer days that the locals call “Indian summer.”

Apart from oil and gas, the region has historically been a rich source of timber. It is also the third-largest fish- producing industry in Russia’s Far East. International and cosmopolitan image of the region is the reason why people who, apart from Russian, also speak Korean, Japanese and Chinese are quite common to find. In addition, the region is culturally diverse providing an authentic experience of global cuisine, a high quality of life, and plenty of outdoor summer and winter sports.

Starting this fall, KB-Bridge would like to invite FOUR native English-speaking teachers to join its team. There are currently TWO teaching native speakers who have been working for the school since 2013. By this fall, we would like to have SIX native English-speaking full-time employees.
