Full-time English Teacher wanted for October in Ho Chi Minh City

 
The Job

Vinalearn English Language Center is looking for one full-time English Teacher for an October start; part-time positions are also available for an hourly rate (17-18USD/hr).

Vinalearn places teachers in public schools where regular school hours tend run between 7:00am and 5:00pm from Monday to Friday. Saturday morning classes may also be a part of a full-time teacher's schedule depending on what is required by the school you have been placed at, but a full-time teacher rarely exceeds 25 teaching hours per week.

This full-time position requires that a teacher work a minimum 85 hours per month in order to receive the full-time monthly salary of 1500USD. The minimum hours are easy to reach with the scheduled teaching hours, but if for whatever reason you cannot make the hours (i.e. a cancelled class), you will be able to come into the office to make up the difference to ensure that the requirement is fulfilled.

Vinalearn provides ongoing support to its teachers, from airport pick up to finding whatever they may need during the adjustment period. This could include anything as small as where to find toiletries, to giving advice on how to navigate the city on a motorbike and/or helping you to find your new home away from home (all things that I was provided help with when I arrived in August).

Qualifications

In order to be eligible for a work permit a full-time teacher will need to have an original copy of their undergraduate degree to be verified in Vietnam. Furthermore, a full-time teacher will require a TEFL/TESL or TESOL certificate from a reputable source (in-person or online). Any additional accreditation such as post-graduate degrees will be considered when assessing the merits of your application.

Experience

Priority will be given to the applicants who have experience working as teacher or mentor to secondary school children and young adults. Other experience is welcome so long as you can describe how it is relevant.
