ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHER

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

End client: A global company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defence, security and aerospace systems

Financial package: £36,012 TAX-FREE per annum (equivalent of £49,500 UK salary)

Expat Benefits: Free accommodation in a secure compound, generous holiday entitlement (58 days per year), 3 flights each year, free access to medical facilities, medical insurance, free and unlimited use of leisure facilities on the compound etc

Start date: ASAP (Oct/Nov 2015)

Contract duration: 2 years

Security clearance: Successful candidates need to gain UK Baseline security clearance

THE CANDIDATE

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate the following professional experience and/or competence:

¢ Minimum qualification: University degree in any subject (English or Modern Languages preferred)

¢ CELTA / Trinity or equivalent (120 hours including observed teaching); DELTA preferred

€¢ Demonstrable classroom teaching experience in company or language school, Middle East experience preferred.

¢ Evidence of ability to function independently as well as part of team.

€¢ Experience of preparing for IELTS exams, Cambridge Main Suite, City and Guilds

¢ Preferred experience in delivering Technical English training (aviation engineering preferred) in a technical training institution

€¢ Preferred experience as Examiner for IELTS, UCLES, etc..

€¢ Knowledge and experience of using and developing CALL materials and facilities

THE ROLE

¢ To carry out all aspects of English Language Training of students which includes placement and progress testing, materials selection, preparation and development, syllabus development, implementation of courses, record keeping.

¢ Select and develop appropriate course material to match students’ abilities and requirements

€¢ Independently carry out training courses and associated administration

€¢ Provide continuous assessment of students’ learning progress.

€¢ Document work as necessary; attendance / progress reports / lesson plans / schemes of work /assessment plans

€¢ Prepare students for appropriate external English Language qualifications

¢ Counsel students with regard to their progress in order to maintain motivation

€¢ Develop self-access independent learning materials and strategies
