Exciting Opportunity to Teach in Peru

 
This is an exciting opportunity to teach in Peru on a government-sponsored program. The Peruvian government has launched a nationwide program designed to improve levels of English for students around the country. 16 foreign teachers will be sponsored to teach English in academically selective high schools around Peru.

This is a unique opportunity for teachers to gain valuable teaching experience within mainstream schools, to have an amazing cultural immersion opportunity and to shape the future of the students they teach. You will have a 1-week orientation in Lima and receive support during the program.

Teachers will plan and co-teach with a Peruvian counterpart, teach independently, initiate and run English focussed extracurricular activities, classes and clubs, prepare resources and develop and take part in assessment activities.

English Language Company, Sydney (ELC) has been invited to assist the Peruvian government with the recruitment, orientation and support for these teachers.

Contract length: Arrive Oct. 24th / Start teaching Nov. 2nd / Contract end late Sept 2016

Working hours: 20-25 hours per week classroom teaching + teaching admin.

Monthly salary: US$1000 per month (paid in local currency)

+ $500 Completion bonus

• Orientation in Lima with accommodation and meals

• Transport to placement and first month’s accommodation

• Pre-departure and ongoing academic and welfare support

• Work permit sponsorship

Requirements:

• Degree required

• TESOL/TEFL qualification required

• Clean criminal record

• Some Spanish an advantage

• Sense of adventure essential
