American Language Center - TangierEFL Teaching Position at The American Language Center – Tangier
ALC Tangier is currently accepting applications from qualified, native speaker English teachers for the remaining academic year (January – June 2016). Candidates must have EFL teaching experience, hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university and a CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent certificate; at least one year overseas teaching experience is highly recommended. We are looking for teachers with a demonstrated ability to lead motivating, learner-centered, communicative classes using varied pair- and group-work activities with a minimum of teacher talk time. An interest in Moroccan culture and/or the Arabic language is helpful. Appointments are renewable for the school year Oct 2016-June 2017.
A full time position entails 21-24 contact hours per 6-day workweek. Classes will include children’s and/or young adolescent as well as young adult groups, and may include specialized English classes (e.g. Business English, TOEFL Prep). Opportunities to lead extra-curricular clubs and activities are also provided, depending on teacher and student interest.
Teachers are paid hourly at locally competitive rates. Full time wages allow teachers to live in modest comfort on a budget. ALC Tangier provides assistance obtaining a work contract and residency. Basic health insurance, a relocation allowance and round trip economy class airfare (upon completion of the 6-month appointment) are offered.
