Job Description

Taught English in Japan? Part time work in London, evenings and some days

Orchid English is a small corporate English school in London looking for teachers to contract on a part-time basis. We are really looking for exceptional people!

It's in-company teaching and the clients are all around London. The client almost always wants a lesson starting at 5pm or later in the evening. We can agree locations that are convenient to you. The amount of lessons per week depends on how many you would like.

Students normally sign up for an ongoing course and you can arrange the times with them each week according to your schedule. Students are looking for a "long term relationship" and they are promised one teacher for the duration of their course for continuity.

The teacher needs to be a native English speaker because some of the students have an extremely high level of English themselves. The teacher must also have at least a month-long CELTA or Trinity certificate plus classroom experience, and have taught in Japan or have experience teaching Japanese people because the majority of our students are Japanese.

YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK.

We are looking for someone kind and patient who corrects errors sensitively, carries out engaging lessons, who is obsessively punctual and who dresses very smartly in a suit or collared shirt for a corporate environment. We also need someone to be business minded about encouraging the student to renew their contracts, and keeping an ear out for possible colleagues who could want lessons.

Teachers work on a contractual basis and are responsible for declaring their own tax. Pay is £25 for a 1 hour class, £35 for a 90 min class and £42 for a 2 hour class.

If this interests you, please send us a CV for the attention of Emily and let us know a bit more about yourself. What is your teaching style and philosophy? How much time do you have to spend on additional lessons and in which London locations? Can you tell us about a time when you were super reliable?

Many thanks for reading.
