Notes: My wife's & my hogwan is in need of another native English teacher. Visa sponsorship provided if necessary. This job is for teachers that are more independent, experienced, and enthusiastic and are interested in taking the next step out of the regular full-time job. The current teacher escaped from public school office politics and a bureaucratic quagmire that he experienced. With the independence and light workload that I provide, he has been able to continue his studies back in the USA and have time to do other things. I kind of wish he wanted to take some more work that I offered him, but I leave that up to him. It is more important for me that he is excited to make the lessons fun and engaging to the students than to fill his schedule when he is already at his capacity.
Another teacher goes to the beach in the mornings and teaches in the afternoon for 3 hours. She loves her lifestyle. You can talk to her too if you would like.
Message from the current teacher:
I have been working in Geoje for the past year now and it has been a great time. The way it is set up gives me a lot more flexibility to get things done throughout the day and gives me plenty of time for breaks where I can do whatever I want. I usually have two or three lessons that I use throughout the week, so lesson planning is pretty minimal. An average day for me is two adult classes in the late morning, a couple hours break, and a few late afternoon classes. Sometimes, I have night tutoring sessions, if I want to commit to that. I teach at different hagwans every day of the week so lessons I use of Monday can be adjusted for levels and used on Tuesday, Wednesday, and so on. Also, since I work part-time, I have a ton of freedom in what I am allowed to do in class. All in all, it is a pretty sweet gig, and if I ever need a vacation, I just find a replacement and I can take a vacation for as long or as short as I want, within reason. If you have any questions feel free to give me a shout! (teacher contact info given upon request)
Let me know if you have any questions about this full-time, part-time teaching schedule.
