Winter Placements for Teachers in Hungary

 
The Central European Teaching Program has a handful of conversational English positions for winter semester starting laet January. Other than one bilingual high school placement, all are in certified public or parochial elementary schools.

Our schools are located throughout Hungary in cities, towns and villages. A bachelor’s degree plus TEFL certification is required (a basic 40-hour online course is sufficient) but a degree in education and/or state certification are highly prized.

2. An elementary in pretty Nyirbator in NE Hungary and very convenient to Nyiregyhaza with express train service to Budapest and elsewhere

3. An elementary in Ebes on the outskirts of Hungary’s second largest city, Debrecen with express train service to Budapest and elsewhere

4. A Catholic elementary in Mako in SE Hungary and convenient to Szeged, a lovely university city

5. An elementary in Balassagyarmat north of Budapest near the Slovak border

6. An elementary in Salgotarjan in north central Hungary close to the Slovak border

7. Nyirpazony, a pretty town established at the turn of the last century as the summer home for the wealthy of nearby Nyiregyhaza

8. An elementary in Budapest requesting a focus in science or math, though may consider an applicant with ESL background

CETP is the oldest established organization placing ESL teachers in Hungary. Currently we serve about one hundred schools.

We do require a program fee, as Hungarian schools cannot afford to pay for our extensive services. For a January start, the fee for all remaining schools is $1500. I assure you this is NOT a placement fee. We are a full-service organization providing: all EU residence and work documentation to teach in Hungary, airport welcome, several day orientation in Budapest, transportation to your new community, free private furnished apartment with utilities paid, medical insurance, Hungarian teachers’ salary, in-country director available 24/7, Facebook page for travel and teaching tips, plus personal, attentive service throughout. Please note: Due to Hungarian regulations, our teachers must be NATIVE-speakers of English and citizens of the US, Canada, or the EU plus hold a Bachelor’s degree.
