Job Description

BKS TEFL Certification and Paid Teaching Internship in Thailand

Most jobs require extensive training to qualify as an applicant. But you might be surprised to learn that teaching English abroad is relatively easy. In fact, all you need is a TEFL certificate and a willingness to help your students progress!

And the good news is that there are literally thousands of open jobs teaching English available in almost every corner of the world - all waiting to be had by TEFL-qualified teachers.

Join the BKS TEFL Internship on Koh Phan Ngan Island - a tropical paradise smack in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand - and the get the qualification you’ll need to jumpstart your career. After a two week, hands-on training course on Koh Phan Ngan, you’ll go to a Thai government school where you’ll actually teach - and get paid for your work!

Over the next four months, you’ll get up to 240 hours of real teaching experience under your belt. Top that off with the final week of training on the azure island of Koh Lipe and you’ll have a 120-hour TEFL certificate in-hand backed up with proven skills learnt in the classroom.

The BKS TEFL Internship offers two tracks: One for current university students, and another for those who have already graduated. Keep in mind there’s no age-limit!

Current university students should be prepared to join the BKS TEFL Seminar during Winter Break of 2015-16. You’ll do the initial two-week prep course during that time, and then go back to your university to finish up the year.

Upon graduation, you’ll return to Thailand to complete the actual teaching internship. This is when you’ll actually be putting your skills to use in the classroom as a real teacher. You’ll then join us in October on Koh Lipe Island to do the final week of seminars, complete the teaching internship and get your TEFL certificate.

Here is the upcoming schedule for university students:

December 19th 2015 Arrive in Bangkok Bangkok

December 21st 2015 BKS TEFL Training Begins Koh Pha Ngan

December 25th 2015 Full Moon Party Koh Pha Ngan

January 2nd 2015 BKS TEFL Training Concludes Return Home

Late May/Early June Return to Thailand for Internship Thailand, nationwide

Late Sept/Early Oct Conclude Teaching Internship Thailand, nationwide

October 10th-14th 2015 BKS TEFL Training Final Week Koh Lipe

Graduated from university already? You can still join the Winter Break course, or join our full three week course starting on February 1, 2016. The schedule is a little different, but you’ll get the valuable hands-on experience that sets BKS TEFL apart from the rest. Check the dates on the weblink below

Why is BKS TEFL Internship better than the rest? The answer is easy. With other programs, you get a 120-hour TEFL certificate, but often, course hours don’t include real instruction. Maybe you attend twice a week for 8 hours a day, and do the rest of the course on your own from a textbook.

Not with BKS TEFL Internship. From the moment you join our program, you’ll be a part of a dynamic group of other like-minded people learning together in real-life seminars. You’ll do observed teaching practicums at a real school during the seminar, and get feedback from experts who know what works and what you can improve upon.

Then you’ll spend nearly 240 hours teaching real classes! By the time you’re finished, you’ll know your TEFL certificate means something.
