Primary/Secondary ESL Teachers in Southern Thailand (Nakhon Sri Thammarat)

Prateepsasana Islamic School in southern Thailand is looking for curious and open-minded ESL teachers, who are hands-on and assertive and want to share their culture while also learning about a new one. We have open teaching positions at both the primary and secondary schools.

Dr. Surin Pitsuwan (former secretary general of ASEAN 2008-2012, and prominent ESL advocate) and the Prateepsasana Islamic School community are looking for bright and highly motivated English teachers to live and teach at their two campuses in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand. We are looking for candidates who want to immerse themselves into the community, take the time and effort to learn Thai language, are open and interested in new and different cultures, and who want to share their own culture. The candidate should be a “self starter” who will contribute to creating and sharing teaching materials, training teachers and is not afraid to initiate and implement new programs.

Basic Qualifications

• Native English speaker

• TESL/TEFL/TESOL/CELTA Certificate OR Bachelors in Education

• Classroom and teaching experience

Desired Qualities

• Highly adaptable

• Experience working with children and teens

• Experience living in another culture, especially a conservative culture

• Self motivated

• Excellent communication skills

• Prior experience with a foreign language

Job Specifics

Schools are located in Nakhon Si Thammarat province in southern Thailand.

We have position openings at both the primary (grades 1-6) and secondary (grades 7-12) schools.

The contract is for 1 year, from the end of April 2016- April 2017. Exact dates can be discussed.

Salary will range between 17,000- 20,000 baht per month, depending on level of experience and position.

Housing and meals are included.

Round trip airfare from country of origin to Thailand is also included.
