Literature/Science/Social Studies/English Teachers Required – Start in July/August 2016

THE SCHOOLS NEED:

2 ESL Teachers for Grades 5-11

2 Literature Teachers for Middle school, Senior high school

3 Science Teachers for Middle School, Senior high school

3 Social Studies Teachers for Middle School, Senior high school

THE SCHOOL OFFER:

■ Contract duration: For the first year, an 11-month contract starting from Aug. 16 (or earlier starting date with the first month salary paid differently) to June 30th of the following year.

■ Renewal Incentive: Should the teacher renew the contract with the School, the salary for July will be provided.; contract renewal incentive available based on evaluation

■ Monthly salary : (differs according to the teachers educational background and teaching experiences.); For the 1st year teachers: NTD$62,720 with a bachelors degree or NTD$69,965 with a masters degree

■Monthly performance bonus: NTD$10,000. Every year there is an approximately annual salary increase of 3%.

■ PD Reimbursement:USD$1000 every year for teachers renew the contract with school.

■ Furnished accommodation for single teachers. It’s a 6-room apartment with a shared kitchen and 2 shared bathrooms. Teachers living in the apartment share the utility fee for electricity, water, gas, Internet access and apartment management fee every month. If teachers choose not to stay at school-provided apartment, school will provide housing subsidy.

■National health insurance: All teachers are required to join this national health insurance program and pay a portion of the insurance.

■Airfare reimbursement: An NTD$50,000 round-trip plane ticket for the 1st year teacher, and school will provide one round-trip plane ticket every two years afterwards.

■ Vacations: 2-3 weeks of paid winter vacation during Chinese New Year (late January to early February), depending on the exact time. For teachers that renew contracts, July and August are paid summer vacation.

(*Teachers will be taxed at a rate of 18% if the total number of days the Teacher is physically in Taiwan, is less than 183 days within a tax year.)

SCHOOL DESCRIPTION:

■ K-12 school with dual academic systems. (Taiwan & Taiwan/American curriculum system)

■ Over 10 foreign teachers, international office culture

■ Every classroom is a multi-media classroom, equipped with a computer, a LCD projector, a projector screen and Internet access.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

■ Teachers work from Monday to Friday; off on weekends

■ Office hour: 8 am - 5 pm, with 1-hour lunch break (12:00pm to 1:00pm)

■ The maximum teaching hours is 22 classes weekly, 40-45 min per class

■Teachers will assist in any subject-related activities at school or major school events, during weekdays and/or weekends (about 1 or 2 times per semester); in preparation for any English-related materials, such as listening test recordings, Story Time at English Library, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

■ English native-speaker with a bachelor’s degree

■ K-12 teaching license/credential for the subject to be taught

■ At least one year of successful full-time experience at an accredited elementary or secondary school is preferred.

■ Open for Marriage ARC (JFRV) and permanent ARC (APRC) holders
