Hello,
I’m helping my boss find a native English elementary school teacher to replace me on lovely Geoje Island beginning around mid-May. This position comes with standard benefits offered to English teachers including: pension, health care, moving allowance and return flight and, 3 sick days, paid holidays, contract completion bonus, and ~5 days paid vacation. The working hours are from ~2:10 to 8:10. There are seven 40 minute classes with 10 minute breaks between each of them, but no lunch break. The pay is 2.4 M won.
We are looking for someone who has at least one year of teaching experience, and who is self motivated. You are free to create your own lesson plans, and there are many resources for you to work with already at the school. Also, you will be responsible for keeping the classroom clean and opening and closing the school each day. The school is very small- only two classrooms, and only ~6 students maximum per class. The other teacher is a Korean English teacher. Also, the ideal teacher would be American, female (required), a Christian (not required), and already living in Korea.
The apartment is a one bedroom, and it is fully stocked with everything you will need. Dishes, utensils, pots and pans, bedding, a huge TV with an HDMI cable, a view of the ocean from the veranda, clothes drying rack, water machine, bidet, nice curtains, and plenty of other useful things. The apartment is 10 minutes walking from the school. There is a local bus stop and marts nearby, and a bigger bus station down the street. There aren’t many foreigners near the school, but there are tons of foreigners about 20 minutes away by bus.
This is such an amazing school, so please only apply if you are dedicated to teaching and will take great pride in your work each day.
