The Job
Our school is now recruiting energetic, motivated and creative English teachers who have strong passion in teaching young learners between 5 to 12 years old in the most vibrant cities in China - Shanghai or Beijing. We help develop and enhance our young learners critical thinking and communication skills in a multi-disciplinary environment to become well-rounded thinkers. With strong emphasis on excellence, we have adapted the programs from selected primary schools in the United States. We use a variety of subjects including literature, history, social studies and science to train students to think and effectively communicate their ideas. We encourage our young learns to learn how to think, not what to think.

Our unique school has Library and Core Course programs which offer guided independent reading in our library of more than 7,000 audio books and regular books as well as literature and writing classes. Our young learners can choose among these books and read by themselves with the help and support of a coach. We aim to provide a life-changing experience to every young learner and try to match or even exceed their dreams and passions. Together, we can nurture the future generation to become the best and the brightest.

With small class sizes of 6 to 8 students, teachers and students have plenty of time to interact with each other and allow learners to discuss and present their projects during the class. Students and teachers have access to a wide range of state of the art teaching technology such as computers, iPads and other multi-media facilities. We also provide excellent, professional pre-job and on the job training to teachers. We welcome ideas and creativity from our foreign teachers to help further develop our curriculum.

Shanghai
Known as the Pearl of the Orient, Shanghai is truly an international metropolis in every sense of the word. The most vibrant and progressive city in China, Shanghai is the economic and cultural center, blending an incredible mix of Eastern and Western culture. On one side of the mighty Yangtze River flowing through Shanghai is the Pu Dong district, rural farm land just 20 years ago, it is now the financial and commercial hub with skyscrapers stretching ever higher. Along the western bank of the river, the iconic Bund is a reminder of the colonial past of Shanghai, featuring grand European architecture.

For those who like to shop, party and eat, Shanghai has all you could possibly want and more. But despite its cosmopolitan reputation, pockets of quaint tradition remain alive and well, dotted throughout the city. Explore countless old markets, back streets crammed with local eateries and discover incense filled temples still central to the locals daily life.



Beijing
Teach English in Beijing and immerse yourself in the traditions of ancient China while also being a part of the exciting changes of a city on the cutting edge of modern culture. Beijing continues to be an exciting place for all things music, fashion and art with plenty of events and shows to attend. There is a thriving expat community in Beijing, with the Sanlitun area being a popular destination for both expats and trendy locals to mix and mingle over drinks.



Main Responsibilities
o Maximum of 20 to 24 teaching hours per week
o 40 hour work week including teaching hours
o Lesson planning and curriculum development
o Teach core literature courses
o Coach students in the library
o Research and development projects
o Check and grade students homework and exams
o Enhance students verbal and listening skills in English


Compensation
o Excellent salary 14,000 to 18,000 RMB per month (depending on qualifications and teaching ability)
o International flight reimbursement: 8,000 RMB
o Discretional bonus at the end of the contract depending on performance
o 10 days national holidays plus 6 days paid holidays

Requirements
o Bachelors degree
o TEFL certificate preferred but not required (No TEFL? We recommend INTESOL www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)
o Native English speaker preferred but non-native candidates with fluent English and clear accent can also be considered
o 2 years teaching experience required
o Clean criminal record
o Fluency in oral and written English
o Energetic, fast learner and an excellent team player
o Patient, self-motivated and passionate in teaching young learners
