MYP and PYP COORDINATORS NEEDED AT THE AMERICAN SCHOOL IN SUNNY CHIAPAS, MEXICO

The American School Foundation of Chiapas, A.C. is looking for passionate and professional full-time MYP and PYP positions. We are interested in people who have a genuine interest in the education of students, who value their work as a profession, not a pastime, and who have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher (preferably in Education) and/or a State Teaching Certificate, ideally with at least two years teaching experience. International teaching experience is a perk!

We are keen to hire coordinators who are creative, enthusiastic, responsible, flexible, well-organized, principled, reflective, caring, and technologically proficient team players.

PYP Coordinator Requirements:

Proven teaching ability, experience in PYP, Bilingual in English and Spanish, strong interpersonal skills

Responsible for:

* Being a pedagogical leader in the school and communicating with the school leadership (PLT)

* committed to planning and supporting others in collaborative planning

* Ensuring that the standards for implementation are understood, and that the programme is planned, taught and assessed collaboratively

* Responsible for the development and implementation of the program

* Be involved in whole-school planning curricular development and planning

* Responsible for the communication with the IB office and other IB Schools

* Event planning and logistical organization (Academic Fairs, Three-way Conferences, Teacher Orientation, Professional Development planning and implementation)

MYP Coordinator Requirements:

Proven teaching ability, experience in MYP, Bilingual in English and Spanish, strong interpersonal skills

Responsible for:

* Being a pedagogical leader in the school and communicating with the school leadership (PLT)

* Guiding PLT, teachers, students through the process of authorization

* Committed to planning and supporting others in collaborative planning

* Ensuring that the standards for implementation are understood, and that the programme is planned, taught and assessed collaboratively

* Responsible for the development and implementation of aligning curriculum with MYP

* Be involved in whole-school planning curricular development and planning

* Responsible for the communication with the IB office and other IB Schools

* Event planning and logistical organization (Community Project, Personal Project, Professional Development)

Contract details:

We offer a two year contract; starting July 2016 (it can be extended after two years)

-8 hour work day

-Health insurance and housing

-5 (five) weeks or more paid vacation each year

-Salary: $15,000.00 pesos*

-Round-trip airfare reimbursement**

-We are part of the Mexican National Association of IB Schools IBAMEX.

*Apostilled birth certificate is necessary for salary to be tax free.
