Primary teachers/administrator/librarian/special ed needed at NGO school in Copan Ruinas, Honduras

Mayatan Bilingual School in Copán Ruinas, Honduras is seeking primary teachers grades Kindergarten-4th for the upcoming school year (August 2016-June 2017) . Ideal candidates are independent, self-guided, self-reliant individuals who: are passionate about teaching and working in the local community, capable of making the best of limited resources and adapting to circumstances, and want to gain international experience. This is a full-time professional teaching position.

Mayatan Bilingual School is a private, registered NGO in both the US and Honduras, founded by local mothers in 1991. MBS instructs over 400 students grades PK-12th, regardless of their socioeconomic status; some 45+% of the school's students receive scholarships and a path out of poverty. Students of all economic and social backgrounds attend the school. Mayatan graduates receive a Honduran diploma (Bachillerato en Ciencias y Letras), a United States High School Diploma through the University of Missouri, and a Tourism Certificate.  

We are seeking certified (or soon to be certified) teachers who are native speakers of English. International travel, work experience and Spanish language skills are a plus, but not requirements for the position. All teachers will be provided with housing, transportation to and from the school, residency/permission renewal, health insurance and a monthly stipend.

Teaching Positions for the 2016-2017 School Year (August 10, 2016-June 16, 2017):

- Kindergarten Section B teacher
- 1st grade English Language Arts teacher
- 1st grade Math/Science teacher
- 2nd grade English Language Arts teacher
- 2nd grade Math/Science teacher
- 4th grade Math/Science teacher

All primary grades (1-5) have two sections of around 22 students each. Teachers are responsible for planning and carrying out lesson plans for each section. English Language Arts classes are Reading and English (grammar and writing). 

- High School Mathematics: PreAlgebra, Geometry, Algebra II, PreCalculus/Calculus
- Librarian (must be bilingual)
- Special Education (must be bilingual) - experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, speech therapy, dyslexia
