Science, English & I.T Teachers for Upper Primary

QUALIFIED Upper Primary Science, English and I.T. Teachers - 90k

ACEP is seeking applicants for the following teaching positions:

i) Upper Primary SCIENCE teacher (to commence late July)
ii) Upper Primary ENGLISH teacher (to commence late July)
iii) Upper Primary COMPUTERS teacher (to commence mid August)

The successful applicants will possess a university qualification which permits them to teach in REGULAR PRIMARY or SECONDARY SCHOOLS in the UK, Canada, Australia, USA, New Zealand or South Africa.

POSITION DETAILS and the APPLICATION PROCESS:

1) Applications will only be read if the email’s subject is ‘Primary SCIENCE teacher’ , ‘Primary ENGLISH teacher’ or ‘Primary COMPUTERS teacher’

2) SCIENCE Position Details:

- MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Homeroom teacher for one Year 6 Class + teaching Science to Year 5 and Year 6 classes(15 periods/week).
- QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Education (specialising in Primary/Elementary or Secondary Science with primary experience) or equivalent post graduate qualification.
- EXPERIENCE: MUST have previously taught at a school in a WESTERN COUNTRY.
- HIGHLY DESIRABLE: UK curriculum/teaching and APP experience.
- START DATE: The successful applicant must be available to commence employment on Wednesday 27th July, 2016.

2) ENGLISH Position Details:

- MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Homeroom teacher for one Year 5 Class + teaching English to three (of six) Year 5 classes (15 periods/week).
- QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Education (specialising in Primary/Elementary or Secondary English with primary experience) or equivalent post graduate qualification.
- EXPERIENCE: MUST have previously taught at a school in a WESTERN COUNTRY.
- HIGHLY DESIRABLE: UK curriculum/teaching and APP experience.
- START DATE: The successful applicant must be available to commence employment on Wednesday 27th July, 2016.

3) COMPUTERS Position Details:

- MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Homeroom teacher for one Year 5 Class + teaching computers to Year 4-6 classes (15 periods/week).
- QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Education specialising in Primary/Elementary or a related secondary subject primary experience) or equivalent post graduate qualification.
- EXPERIENCE: Preference will be given to applicants who have previously taught upper secondary students at a school in a WESTERN COUNTRY.
- HIGHLY DESIRABLE: A strong interest in computers and technology and passion for teaching related content to young learners.
- START DATE: The successful applicant must be available to commence employment on Wednesday 17th August, 2016.

5) The initial contracts will be until March, 2017. If both parties agree, an additional twelve month contract will be offered from that time.

6) All teachers teach for approximately 18 hours per week.

7) Class sizes are a maximum of 25 students for all Year Levels (closer to 20 in most cases).

8) Successful applicants will receive 90,000 baht/month (combined salary & living allowance), health insurance and paid holidays.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT OUR SCHOOL:

ACEP is a Thai-bilingual, co-educational school for primary and secondary school students. The subjects that ACEP students learn with foreign teachers include English, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education/Health and Computers.

After operating an English Program within Assumption College’s primary and secondary school campuses since 2002, the brand new, purpose built ACEP campus was opened in March 2012.

In its founding year ACEP educated just 252 students in Years 1, 4, 7 and 10 only. Since 2014 ACEP has offered classes for students in Years 1-12 and in the 2016 Academic Year enrolments are over 900 students.

The new school is built on 36 hectares of land, approximately 30 kilometres south-west of the city centre, on Rama II Road. Teachers are provided with transport to and from the campus each day. The enormous land area, modern architecture and school’s focus on technology combine to create an ideal environment for students to learn and for teachers to work.
