Volunteer Online Teachers Needed to Teach Students in Rio de Janeiro

Hello Teachers,

This is a volunteering position!

We are a social project : EnglishWorks sposored by The Sequoia Foundation and the city of Rio de Janeiro,and we are looking for new teachers who want to volunteer and talk to our students via Skype. The time required is a minimum of 40 minutes a week.

This is an opportunity to have some experience in interacting with Portuguese speaking students that could evolve to have a paid position. All classes are purely conversational.

Many of our students never had a chance to learn English.

Age of the students:15- 80 years old; most are beginning level in their English but students can be of any English proficiency; most students are interested in positions in the hospitality industry

Our foundation provides weekly dialogues which will be used with the students on Skype.

No planning is required.

We only ask for 40 minutes once a week of conversation, in which you will have a chance to talk to several different students ( 6 to 10 , depending on the day).

The classes begin on July 16th and ends in September.

There are 4 classes on Wednesdays and 4 classes on Fridays, with different groups of students.

You can choose one day of the week and one time slot and that is it.

All the candidates will be interviewed and to the ones chosen to participate in the program we will schedule a quick orientation session!

10:30 to 11;00 AM

12:45 to 13:15 PM
