This is the director of Beyond Advanced, Mr. Steve Hong, at our Gumi branch in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea, one of the leading English education franchises in Korea. Since July 2011, we have been providing local kids and students with our educational services, enhancing the accuracy as well as fluency of their English usage. Currently, we are looking for a native English teacher who has solid communication skills for teaching kids, ranging from Elementary to Middle school students, as our present teacher¡¯s contract will expire around the end of August, 2015.

We have had 4 foreign teachers so far, one teacher each year for the last 4 years, who have successfully worked with us. We care not only about the working conditions at our school but also life itself in Korea. Surely, this job will be an opportunity for you to enrich your life experiences.

As for Gumi, the city where you are to live, I am happy to say that it is quite well-known for an industrial city, and has major companies like Samsung and LG. Therefore, even though it is a small city, Gumi has a great location and is serviced by Korea¡¯s excellent public transportation network, including buses and trains. For example, the nearest big city is Daegu, which is only 40 minutes from Gumi by bus or train. The biggest city, Seoul, is only two hour distance if you take the KTX, the fastest train in Korea. Therefore, you can easily access any places in Korea which you would like to travel to.

The area of the city where you are going to live in is called ¡°Okgye,¡± which is 15-20 minute drive from Gumi station in downtown. Buses run downtown from Okgye throughout the day as well. In addition, because there are many English language schools around, you can easily meet foreign teachers like yourself. Also, there is a bar, called ¡°Corona¡± downtown, a kind of meeting point for foreigners, where you can make new friends.

As the director of the school, I will provide you with comprehensible lesson plans with story books, which will make your teaching a success. Compared to other schools, I should say that we are far more flexible, creative and effective in our approach to teaching.

Salary and benefits

* One-year contract. (Part time is also possible)
* 2.1 million won per month
* Student age: Between 8 and 16
* Class size: 1-10 students in a class.
* Vacation: 10 days paid vacation + Korean national holidays
* 3 sick days
* Housing: Free Furnished accommodation , Single room nearby school.
* Two-way Airfare.
* 50% of medical insurance.

Teachers currently in Korea with a working visa and the ability to transfer to a new school will receive precedence. Otherwise, make sure that you have these documents at your disposal:
