• We are looking for team players who work well with others and have the ability to conduct themselves in a professional demeanor at all times and in all circumstances. As role models to the students, you are expected to act as leaders exemplifying the best of what defines outstanding educators – discipline, respect, punctuality, honor, professionalism.
• Master's degree holders in English, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, and ESL will be the preferred candidates. Master degree in non-ESL related majors may apply as long as they have a 120-hour TESOL/TEFL teaching certificate. (We can recommend a reputable online TEFL Certificate course if you do not currently hold this certification.)
• A minimum of 3 years experience teaching English as a Second or a Foreign Language at the tertiary level utilizing blended learning methodologies and following current ESL Best Practices -- you will be assessed on your knowledge of ESL and general educational pedagogy in the interviews.
• Teachers with experience teaching in the Middle East Gulf Region will be the preferred candidates.
• Computer literacy and excellent knowledge of using technology and software in classes -- ability to operate Smartboards and PCs as well as being Microsoft Office 2007/2010 literate (PPT, Word, Excel, Publisher) are required.
• Excellent command of the lexicon and syntax of spoken and written Standard American English – you will be requested to present a written text during the interviews.
• Highly motivated individual with the ability to assess and adapt to the proficiency needs of learners. Formative Assessment is a key factor in job performance, so you must be familiar of the use and implementation of formative assessments and the role they play in the effective education of your students.
• Able to teach a standardized focused curriculum and implement new instructional methodologies following ESL Best Practices.
• Conduct classes in an engaging, interactive and enthusiastic manner that is facilitative and student-centered. Teachers must have a core understanding of “Active Learning” and prove that they can conduct classes that involve the students in activities that reinforce the targeted learning objectives as defined in the curriculum and individual lesson plans.
• The ability to develop strong lesson plans and maintain pacing of the daily schedule. Class planning and delivery must align with the pacing schedule to ensure that all students and class sections are aligned as closely as possible to ensure that students are prepared for formative and summative assessments.
