BA TESOL Lecturer

BA TESOL lecturer, full-time position working forty hours per week. Lecturers interested in becoming a BA TESOL lecturer must have experience working in the TESOL or related fields. Graduate degrees (Master Degree) in TESOL is required.

Understanding of the Thai Qualification Framework is an advantage however not essential as training is provided.

Successful candidates are inducted on our mandatory intensive Induction program, whereby candidates are supported to understand and develop their knowledge around the requirements set forth by the Ministry of Education Thailand.

In addition, the college education and experience requirements, TESOL lecturer candidates must ensure they meet additional qualifications, which include possessing:

• Outstanding personal and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• The ability to keep concise records i.e. syllabus, TQF 3 & TQF 5
• Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies
• A sensitivity to the development stages and well-being of TESOL students
• Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress and evidence of growth and progress
• Administer academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student progress for meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition
• The ability to incorporate current technology into the classroom environment
• The ability to facilitate group discussion, analyse situations, and draw conclusions
• The ability to work with a diversity of individuals and groups
• Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates challenging instructional strategies
• Adapt curriculum to provide individual, small group, and/or remedial instruction as to meet the needs of individual students and subgroups of students
• Establish and maintain standards of student behaviour required to run an orderly and productive classroom environment
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students
• Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement
• Excellent problem solving skills to analyse issues and create action plans
• The ability to adapt to changing work priorities and maintain flexible working hours
• The ability to establish and maintain constructive relationships
• Attend TESOL related conferences / training
• TESOL related research papers publishable via the TCI & Scope database
