Cambridge English CentreExperienced and Successful Teachers Needed in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, South America
Summary:
Experienced and successful teachers to focus on higher level general English and/or FCE/CAE levels required. If you have a desire to teach multicultural young adults to a very high standard of English language proficiency and like warm weather and friendly people, then we need you at Cambridge English Centre, which is part of Cambridge College in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, South America!
Details:
We wish to recruit native/near-native (C2) English-speaking teachers with experience at teaching B2 (Upper Intermediate) level and higher. In particular, we are seeking career teachers with proven recent success in exam preparation at FCE/CAE levels in order to prepare teenage and adult students to achieve the exacting standards demanded by University of Cambridge International Examinations.
Therefore, we are looking for someone with a minimum of two years’ experience and the ability to deal with students from Bolivia and other Latin American countries that have had prior English language knowledge. Having earned a reputation for high academic standards, Cambridge English Centre is well established and have a working environment which is friendly and mutually supportive.
New teachers have joined us for a variety of reasons, such as the desire to experience teaching in a Latin American country, to improve their Spanish, to examine at close quarters the social and political hurdles faced by an emerging developing country or simply an interest in exploring Bolivia’s extraordinarily diverse natural environment.
Santa Cruz is Bolivia’s largest and fastest growing city, having expanded from a small village of about 50,000 to a sprawling metropolis of over two million in the last 50 years. It is an agricultural region located on Bolivia’s fertile eastern plains, rather than the high altitude environment of the Andes with which Bolivia is often associated. The city is on the edge of the awe-inspiring Amboro National Park, and a short distance from the jungles of the Pantanal, made famous in John Gresham’s book “The Testament”. A few hours’ drive away, you can admire the magnificent 18th Century Jesuit Missions ( as seen in ´´The Mission´´, starring Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons), which have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Every two years, the region celebrates its internationally renowned Baroque Music Festival.
