Well Qualified Teachers Needed in Hong Kong

The Edge Learning Centers is seeking well qualified teachers to instruct students in English Literature and/or Test Preparation who has a passion for teaching. In Hong Kong and China, many students hope to attend prestigious US and European Universities. In order to increase their chances of admission, students choose to sit for the SAT/ACT and IB English A1 examination, a very challenging examination that requires students to closely read and evaluate the effects of poetry, prose, and dramatic texts. This creates a staggering demand not for ordinary English language teachers, but for English teachers with strong backgrounds in literature and academic writing, and also familiar with test preparation.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in English Literature or a closely related field and have 2+ years of teaching experience. Superior writing and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Experience in test preparation/academic counseling/certificate in teaching English as a foreign language is a plus.

Responsibilities

English Literature Instructors will plan and implement group and one-on-one lessons on literature and academic writing. In addition, instructors will have the opportunity to develop, write, and edit course materials.

Test Preparation instructors deliver our SAT, ACT, SSAT, TOEFL, and IELTS courses. They must have scored in the top 10%-15% in their SAT or ACT and familiar with SAT, ACT, SSAT, TOEFL, and IELTS.

Compensation

Our Instructors will receive a base salary commensurate with their experience and qualifications, monthly teaching bonuses, gratuity and a comprehensive benefits package.
