Position: English Language Instructor

Vacancies: 3 Females, 5 Males
(female applicants are especially encouraged to apply)

Starting date: Sunday, September 10th, 2017

Contract: One year renewable government contract

Working hours: Instructors are expected to commit to 40 hours of work per week; maximum 18 hours of teaching.

Minimum Hiring Requirements

Applicants must possess the following:

A Master’s* degree in English Language Teaching, English Literature, Linguistics or a closely related field.

OR

A Bachelor’s degree in English Language teaching, English Literature, Linguistics or a closely related field, in addition to a CELTA and/ or a Delta**, and a minimum of 3 years of adult teaching experience.

*Please be advised, online Master’s degrees are not accredited for employment at King Abdulaziz University.

**Please be advised, for accreditation purposes, we can only accept Cambridge’s CELTA or Delta. Any other TEFL/ ELT teaching certificates will not be considered. Preference will be given to Delta holders.

Applicants must be nationals of any of the following countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK or USA.

Strong preference will be given to individuals who possess the following:

Experience developing curriculum and testing tools

Experience working in an Arabic speaking environment

Background teaching ESP courses

Background in engineering, science or IT

Can communicate, even minimally, in Arabic

Benefits

Salary: Based on qualifications and experience.

Annual housing allowance: SR 17,000

Furniture allowance: SR 8,500 (applicable only for first time government employees in Saudi Arabia)

Medical coverage: Fully covered at the ‘University Hospital’.

Vacation days: 60 fully-paid days to be taken during the summer holiday, in addition to both Eid holidays, and the National Day celebration.

Tickets: Annual round-trip tickets are given to employees and up to 3 accompanying dependents.
