English Volunteers for Change (EVOLC) is looking for volunteers ready to make a lasting, sustainable impact in Costa Rica!
EVOLC is a non-profit project of the ALIARSE Foundation in Costa Rica which aims to pair teachers with groups of students in need in urban and rural communities around the country. Students participate in these English classes for free and through them, are given tools to gain employment and a better quality of life!
Openings: Immediately (various positions all throughout 2017 and 2018)
Commitment Length: between 2 weeks to 6 months
Locations: In the capital city of San Jose and region of Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Students populations: range from children, young adults and adults (you decide which population most interests you)
Fully Sponsored positions provide volunteer with:
- 3 meals a day
- Lodging with an experienced Costa Rican host family
- Transportation stipend for daily travel to their teaching site and airport pickup/drop off
- Teaching Materials (curriculum and books)
- Intensive program orientation in Costa Rica
- 24-hour, ongoing support from the EVOLC Program Coordinator
- Site visits from the EVOLC Program Coordinator
-Real immersion as volunteers become a valued member of their community
- Competitive multicultural, international, and professional teaching experience
Qualifications:
- University degree
- TEFL (or equivalent) and some teaching experience
- Native English speaker
- Independent, open minded, and very flexible
- A strong desire to make an impact
- Spanish speaking preferred but not required
- Experience working with populations with lower resources
