Full-time Native Speaking Online English Teacher Needed in Manila, Philippines

EMAPTA Versatile Services is looking for a Full-time Native Speaking Online English Teacher to join its team in Manila to teach online on behalf of our client.

Students listen, read, write, speak, and practice English under the tutelage of qualified native English speaking ESL teachers. Our client gives you the opportunity to teach English online to motivated and highly educated adult students located in 11 metropolitan cities across China.

THE ROLE
The Native Speaking Online English Teacher is a call centre based position responsible for facilitating a class with students enrolled in China, and in the case of online encounters, providing detailed feedback on the individual student performance and giving an assessment. The role will work under the supervision of a senior teacher or supervisor and must be amenable to flexible scheduling throughout the year including working evenings, weekends and over holiday periods. The role will also be responsible for logging any student complaints or particular special needs cases that arise during classes for communication with the corresponding China-based centre so that our client China staff can effectively intervene with the student.

LOCATION
Goodland Building, Penthouse Level, 377 Senator Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City, Philippines

WORK HOURS
• Forty hours work a week
• Two days of break does not fall on a weekend
• Two shifts: first starts between 7 and 9 AM, second starts between 1 and 3 PM
• There is a day every week that our teachers do a split shift -- 4 hours in the morning, 4 hours break, 4 hours work again

QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS
• Must be a native English speaker
• Must have at least one year of experience in teaching
• English teaching certificate is an advantage but not required
• Must be willing to work in our office in Makati
• Must be flexible to work on any shift
• Must be computer literate, able to navigate Microsoft Windows desktop applications
• College Diploma or above is preferred

• Ability to work in a target driven environment
• Ability to work within a strict framework to ensure class resources are used efficiently
• Ability to understand the needs of the students and how to communicate the client specific terminology to them in a non-technical manner
• Ability to communicate at a high level of English proficiency to all students
• Ability to deliver highest level of customer service
• Must have a good phone manner
• Must be pleasant and outgoing
• Ability to remain even-tempered when a student is dissatisfied
• Ability to multitask
• Good organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to acquire new skills quickly
• Basic and demonstrable knowledge of teaching techniques, especially language-related teaching
• Familiar with multi track planning and dealing with International Scientific Committee.
