ELC is hiring 5 new teachers for September! Due to our continued growth, we are looking for qualified TEFL instructors from the U.S., Canada, Australia, UK and South Africa. You must be a native speaker of English with a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate. Experience is a plus, but not required for excellent candidates.

Arequipa is located in a valley, surrounded by 19,000 ft. tall volcanoes. The city center is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with amazing and beautiful old Spanish construction. The weather is dry and warm year around. We are a one hour flight from Lima and Cusco. ELC has two locations in Arequipa, with approximately 1,000 total students. Our classes are primarily two hours per day, 18 days per month for adults and 4 Saturday mornings per month for kids. Check out the school on Facebook: www.facebook.com/ExtremeLearning/

Due to the fact that Peru is a developing nation, our students can't pay a lot. Therefore, we cannot pay for airfare or housing. However, the cost of living is low and our staff have no problem living on their wages. Minimum wage in Peru is about $1.20 USD per hour and our teachers are paid $4 to $5.50 per hour, based on experience. We also have monthly raises for quality performance. We request a minimum three month commitment, with six months being ideal. We also provide airport pick up and help finding housing, which is usually not a problem because our teachers tend to know of openings from friends who are leaving at the end of their time in Arequipa.
