Details of Position:

Kensington English School has been established for 28 years, and is one of the first Language Schools in Gifu. Many students go on from here to study in the UK, or come back to us from studying overseas. Although we are a small school (200 students approx), we pride ourselves on a totally professional approach to teaching, yet within a very relaxed environment. A very warm and comfortable working atmosphere is constantly maintained at Kensington English School
Our students ages are from 4-70 years old.

The position is available from July/August 2017.

This position is suitable for someone who can work on their own, with a member of our Japanese staff. Gifu has excellent rail connections to Nagoya. An ideal position for those who really want to enjoy Japanese culture..

The successful applicant will be required to submit both a Health certificate, and a Criminal background check certificate prior

Qualifications:

A native speaker of English is essential, with a University degree.

Currently residing in Japan is preferable but not essential.

2 years teaching experience is preferable, and experience with both
children and adults is essential. The applicant must enjoy teaching children.

Computer skills will also be required.

Applicants will need to be smartly dressed, dynamic in class, have the ability to be able to work in a group or to work on their own. To be flexible, understanding and patient are key points for this position.
An ability to make/produce original material is essential. We would need to view samples of previous materials made during an on-line interview. A sense of humour and flexibility is vital..

Salary and Benefits

The monthly starting salary will be 250,000yen.

You will be required to work a maximum of 27 teaching hours per week, based over a "one month" period. All teachers are required to work a five-day week.

One class is usually 50 minutes, but some classes are 30 and 40 minutes.

We offer 5 weeks paid holiday, and these days will be determined by the school to coincide with the Kensington School schedule. Kensington English School will locate and arrange accommodation for the applicant. The furnished apartment includes,air-conditioning, fridge,washing machine,and TV etc. The rent is 60,000yen per month.
