Grade 10-12 Biology Teacher

Job Summary:
The Grade 10-12 Biology Teacher is responsible for the daily instructional delivery of curriculum, assessment, and classroom management that aligns with the school’s vision, mission, and values while also meeting academic standards. The role will be responsible to understand and demonstrate the importance of effective communication with students, school personnel, and parents.

Required Qualifications:
• Highly Qualified Teacher
• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with an education emphasis
• Minimum of two years of exemplary teaching experience in the classroom
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement the School Biology curriculum for assigned grade levels and subjects
• Grade student/workbooks while providing feedback to students
• Prepare and grade examinations
• Identify and select appropriate science instructional materials aligned to content standards
• Explain concepts in several different ways depending upon the needs of the students
• Participate in professional development as opportunities become available
• Analyze formal and informal data and accurately complete student data assessment analysis and provide informative reports regarding student instruction and achievement
• Knowledgeable about science in general, and about the characteristics of animal and plant life
• Other duties as deemed necessary by the Academic Manager

Skills and Knowledge:
• Demonstrate knowledge of taxonomical systems
• Ability to demonstrate and maintain positive relationships with students and colleagues
• Working knowledge and comfort level with instructional technology
• Experienced in collaborating and adapting work to the needs of teachers and students
• Knowledge of current research and best practices in Science
• Knowledge and demonstration of using innovative skills in instruction (analytical thinking, problem solving, communicating, collaborating, and finding and evaluating information)
• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to utilize technology for communication and instruction to work with parents, students, and others
• Demonstrate organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision while prioritizing workload
• Evidence of ongoing professional learning and reflective practice to continuously improve student learning
• A working knowledge of current research and resources in instruction
• Knowledge and experience using technology for communication, data analysis, gathering and organizing information for science presentations

• Monday to Friday 8am-4pm work week
• 12-month renewable contract with a salary increase (renewal of contract and increase is subject to yearly performance)

• 20 days' (paid) holiday per year, with an additional 13 (paid) public holidays plus Christmas Holidays all paid

School Location:
The school is located within walking distance from Queen Sirikit or Khlong Toei MRT stations in the heart of Bangkok metropolis.
