Urgently Needed Director of Studies for EF Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta
EF English First Kebayoran Baru requires an experienced English Native speakers for the Position of Director of Studies at EF English First Kebayoran Baru (Blok M) in Jakarta.
The applicant will be responsible for training new and existing teachers, conducting teacher observations and reviews to ensure quality education is being delivered at our center. As part of the role as DoS, the candidate will over see the placement of students to ensure that they are at the correct level for their age and skill. The candidate will be required to teach some classes, interact with students on a daily basis and meet with parents when needed. As part of the management team the candidate will be expected to work with administration and give input on operational activities. As DoS you will also be focused on student retention, maintaining class size and ensuring the quality of the teaching at the center. A knowledge of English First and its systems would be of great advantage to the applicant.
Director of Studies will be expected to:
-Ensure teachers deliver lessons to the highest standard.
-Ensure teachers administer tests, exams and assessments. -
Ensure teachers prepare lessons in advance and ready all equipment before class. -
Teachers will be encouraged to regularly evaluate their own performance and they will be helped to do this by the Director of Studies.
-DoS will also be expected to cooperate and communicate effectively with all teachers and members of staff.
An accredited TEFL certificate (TESOL/CELTA) from a recognised 4-5 week intensive course that included extensive teaching practice, peer observation and evaluation from peers and trainer. -A university degree (preferably in English, linguistics or Education).
Also required: -A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and a willingness to teach people of all ages. -A positive attitude and the ability to lead a team. You will need to be flexible and adaptable in order to cope with living in a developing country and you will need to be open minded enough to appreciate the different living conditions.
A one year renewable contract
-A competitive monthly salary in rupiah more than sufficient to support a comfortable lifestyle within Indonesia.
-Reimbursement of return airfare from city of hire to Indonesia within a reasonable budget (3 months - 50% and completion of contract - 50%).
-All visa and immigration costs covered.
-One month salary bonus upon contract completion. -
14 days paid leave, all Indonesian public holidays and additional 2 weeks paid leave when the schools are closed over the Idul Fitri and Christmas/New Year breaks. -
Health Insurance and hospital room cover. -
Accommodation near the school or optional housing allowance.
