POP Kids aims to provide an enjoyable, effective learning experience through a variety of interactive teaching methods that arouse childrens interests, guide them to conduct explorative learning, and cultivate their critical thinking ability. In addition, POP Kids instructors try to teach students about social values, such as caring, sharing, humility, responsibility, respect, and cooperation as well as concentrating on molding personalities, and building confidence.

We teach from a variety of course books all aimed at students aged 4 to 12. Our classrooms are equipped with whiteboards, interactive whiteboards, a computer, projector and speakers. We also teach from interactive software that comes with our course books.

Chongqing 

Chongqing is situated on the upper reaches of the Yangtze river in Sichuan province in the west of China, not far from Tibet. It is a large and fast changing city, known as Mountain City, spread around a mountain, you will be always walking either up or down. It really is a city of changes, mixing modern development with local traditions and small local neighborhoods.

Chongqing is endowed with rich natural scenery, boasting mountains, rivers, forests springs, waterfalls, gorges and caves. It also showcases the areas rich cultural heritage, including the minority Bayu culture, Three Gorges and the modern, developed city itself including the Yangtze River Cruises.

Chongqing is especially well known for its food. People love to eat here and you will find thousands of restaurants featuring all kinds of delicious dishes to feast on. The most famous is the spicy hot pot. Chili pepper, sesame, fermented black beans, scallions, ginger, garlic, wine, soy sauce and an array of flavorings are used in almost 40 different cooking methods.

Main Responsibilities
o Maximum 20 hours teaching per week
o Maximum of 2 admin hours per week (a monthly foreign teacher meeting) 
o Student ages: 4 to 12 years old 
o Plan, implement and supervise the daily classes 
o Assist the Director in assessing continuing education needs and provide training as requested
o Implement daily curriculum as planned
o Evaluate the quality of classroom performance and provide guidance as needed


Compensation
o Excellent salary: 11,000 to 13,000 RMB per month
o Airport pickup 
o Hotel provided on provision of receipt until we assist the teacher find a suitable apartment
o Flight allowance: 5,000 RMB on contract completion 
o 4 weeks paid school holidays + 2 weeks annual paid leave
o Health Insurance provided
o Legal Z visa provided 
o Quarterly performance bonus equal to 5% of 1 month salary
o Overtime payment for classes taught above 80 hours in a month
o On going teacher training and support

Requirements
o Bachelors degree
o 120 hour TEFL certificate or higher required (No TEFL? We recommend INTESOL, est. 1993, 50% discounts: www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)
o Native English speaker from USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia or Ireland (European applicants with a degree from any of the above countries or with 5+ years of teaching experience might be allowed by the local government)
o Teaching experience preferred (we can accept applicants with no experience as long as you show potential 
o A passion for educating young learners and a keen interest in their development
o Ability to command the attention of groups of children in an engaging and compelling manner
o Energetic, enthusiastic, animated approach to storytelling and delivering content to learners
