Start 2018 in Amazing Peru!
Extreme Learning CentersStart 2018 in Amazing Peru!
Extreme Learning Centers has been serving Arequipa since 2005. Due to continued growth and some of our 2017 staff returning home, we are hiring 12 new teachers for January, 2018! We are looking for qualified English language instructors from the U.S., Canada, Australia, UK and South Africa. You must be a native speaker of English with a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate and observed student teaching practice. We cannot accept online course certificates, as student teaching practice and feedback is vital in teacher development. Experience is a plus, but not required for upbeat, bright and positive people!
Arequipa is located in a valley, surrounded by beautiful 19,000 ft. tall volcanoes. The city center is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with amazing and beautiful 450+ year old Spanish buildings. The weather is dry and warm year most of the year. We are a one hour flight from Lima and Cusco. ELC has two locations in Arequipa, with approximately 1,100 total students. Our classes are primarily two hours per day, 18 days per month for adults and 4 Saturday mornings per month for kids. Most teachers teach 108 to 120 hours per month. Check out the school online

Due to the fact that Peru is a developing nation, our students can't pay a lot. Therefore, we cannot pay for airfare or housing. However, the cost of living is low and our staff members have no problem living on their wages. To better understand our country, minimum wage in Peru is about $1.20 USD per hour and our teachers are paid $4 to $5.50 per hour, based on experience. We also have monthly raises for quality performance. We request an initial minimum three month commitment, with six months being ideal.
We provide airport pick up, full orientation and help finding housing. Usually, finding an inexpensive place to live is not a problem because our teachers tend to know of openings based on people leaving at the end of their time in Arequipa. If you've never been to Peru, trust me, it needs to be on your "must see and experience" list.
For an interview and to apply, please send a short resume and recent photo to BOTH our Executive Director, J.C. Larsen and our Teacher Recruitment Director, Lilian Frampton.
